Brushing your teeth twice a day — is not enough. It's important to do it right

We often hear from patients: «I brush my teeth regularly, why then do caries appear or do my gums become inflamed?»

14 сентября 2026 г.

The fact is that dental health depends not only on how often, but also on how exactly you clean them.

Here are some simple recommendations that really work:

🦷 Brush your teeth for at least two minutes. During this time, you can thoroughly clean all tooth surfaces.

🪥 Hold the brush at an angle of about 45° to the gum. This way, the bristles better clean the place where plaque most often accumulates.

✨ Use soft sweeping movements. No need to press hard on the brush — excessive pressure does not make cleaning more effective, but it can injure the gums and cause the enamel to wear off.

🧵 Don't forget about the interdental spaces. This is where plaque most often remains, which a regular brush cannot remove. Use dental floss or irrigator.

👅 Clear your tongue. Bacteria also accumulate on its surface, which can cause bad breath.

⏰Change your toothbrush every 2–3 months or earlier if the bristles have lost their shape.

But even perfect home hygiene cannot completely remove tartar and dense plaque.

That is why we recommend professional oral hygiene every 6 months. During the procedure, the doctor removes hard dental plaque, cleans hard-to-reach areas and helps maintain healthy teeth and gums.

💙In «The Triumph of Dent» we not only treat teeth, but also teach how to keep them healthy for many years.

📍If you haven't been for a preventive checkup or professional cleaning in a while — it's time to make an appointment. Sometimes a few simple recommendations help avoid serious treatment in the future.
